Get motivated to help your dog know where to go when you get stuck behind. Jumps and tunnels in sequences up to 10 obstacles.  Jumps and tunnels will only be used.

Intro to Layering with Mary Ellen

Obstacle Commitment with Karen
Saturday, 11/28   1:30 – 5 pm
Work on committing dogs to obstacles whether you are standing still, walking, or running. All of this work will help when you need to move laterally away from your dog or are falling behind. Are your physical and connection cues correct? Are your verbal cues consistent? Jumps and tunnels will only be used.

Lines, Lines, Lines with Mary Ellen
Sunday 11/29    9am – 12:30 pm
Are you cueing your jumps and tunnels proactively enough that your dog can anticipate the exit line that you want. Do you fully understand your elements of handling and how they can be combined to help your dog achieve this?

Rear Crosses for the WIN with Karen
Sunday 11/29    9am – 12:30 pm
Did I just say rear cross?  Yes, I did! There are often times when a blind or front just is not possible or may not be the clearest option to the next line. In this skill sharpening session, you will work on advanced rear- cross sequences.  It is time we polish our rear crosse skills so you can be confident when you are handling from behind. Only jumps and tunnels will be used.

Which Cross Where with Mary Ellen
Sunday 11/29    1:30 – 5 pm
Course work with emphasis on planning and executing appropriate crosses. One or two contact obstacles and weaves could be used. Dogs should be currently competing. In this workshop, we will help you better understand your dog’s line upon the completion of the obstacle and what you need to do as a handler to achieve that.

These will be very short sequences and may include some technical elements such as backsides and threadles. Dogs should be sequencing jumps and tunnels confidently. Handlers should have a thorough understanding of the seven elements of handling (motion, chest, position, eyes, feet, arms, verbals).

Advanced Distance and Layering with Karen
Sunday 11/29    1:30 – 5 pm
Would you like to take your layering and distance skills to the next level?  If so, this seminar is for you. We will work on technical drills such as those seen at the highest levels in each venue. One contact obstacle and possibly weave poles will be used.  Dogs should be currently competing.
